Travel Tips-Road Trip

I’m four days away from the longest road trip I’ve ever been on. So far the longest I’ve traveled is 203 miles to Pigeon Forge, TN. I going from Georgia to Chicago, Illinois which is 659 miles. Crazy Right!? I’m excited and nervous. Today I’m sharing some of my road trip essentials and tips.

Here is a list of all the essentials that I make sure are in the car with me.

1. My carrier; You can find the one I use here

2. Disposable litter box; This is my favorite

3. Blanket

4. Towel

5. Pet First Aid Kit 💊💉

6. Water Bowl/ Bottled Water 💦

7. Paper Towels (in case of any accidents)

8. Poop Bags 💩

9. Treats 🍗

I also have a few tips on traveling for all you furry babes out there.

1. Make sure to stop every couple of hours to get out and stretch and use the potty.

2. Eat at least 3 hours before you leave.

3.  Don’t let your pawrents leave you in the car alone. Meow like crazy if they do!

4. Take pictures, keep a journal, and HAVE FUN!!!

Did I leave anything out? Have you guys ever gone on a road trip? How was it? We would love to hear from you. Leave us a comment below and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram to see how our trip is going next week.

  1. Hey Yeezy – great blog, we’re looking forward to following your Chicago adventure (we love Chicago). Question (2 parts) – did you have to ‘practice’ with your travel litterbox? And when you guys make a pit stop do mom & dad just put the box outside the car?

    1. I usually don’t use it but it’s there just in case. They put it in the back seat on the floor behind the passenger side. We are driving to Nashville and the to Chicago. So about 6 hours each time. I’m crate trained and can usually wait that long to use the bathroom. So we did have to practice by being crate trained. I think that’s the best to do because some cats do not like being confined or in a crate. My crate is out in the house all the not just when we have to go somewhere. I go in and out of it willingly. Mom and Dad make pit stops and I just walk around. Thanks so much for following along! 🐾 Is there anything we should do in Chicago? Recommendations?

  2. We can’t wait to hear all about your big trip! Sophie went with me to Nashville last May when I went to a pet blogging conference. She had a blast! We know Yeezy will enjoy his big adventure!

  3. In re: Chicago recommendations, you can’t miss with anything in the Monroe Harbor area – museum campus (planetarium was pretty cool), Millenium park. We’ve usually gone in warmer weather & done Segway tours, those are cool. It’s a bit out of the way (out near the Lincoln Park zoo) but if you want an awesome breakfast, I’d suggest Orange.
